After experiencing its significant economic growth in the postwar years and the subsequent bubble economy, Japan is currently entering the era of dwindling birthrate and an aging population. Born after the war, I am in fact one of those who have lived through these times. Having returned to family life after going through my earlier years as a company employee, I now value having time to look back on my own life by reflecting on and talking with myself. I have now come to seek freedom without many restraints holding me down, as well as feel sympathy with those around me who are also in pursuit of freedom. Believing that those with the desire to be free from invisible restraints will achieve true happiness, I try to visualize it through my photographic works. I am looking for cool and accessible incidents remaining in the glamorous commercialized environment of the modern city. I believe that it gives evidence of my daily life. The momentary world remembered in my heart is continually composing the story of separate fragmented pasts. The path I walk in life is a never ending phenomenon. All I can do is live each day conscientiously with gratitude for all things.
